Welcome to Tennessee’s Servicemember Opportunity Portal (TN-SOP). In 2017 and 2018, the Veteran Reconnect Grant helped institute a prior learning assessment (PLA) process that works to standardize how colleges and universities evaluate military credits for the top military occupational or career specialties. The Veteran Reconnect Grant is a competitive grant amongst Tennessee’s public and private non-profit higher education institutions that aims to provide additional funding for the programmatic support of military-affiliated students in Tennessee. The TN-SOP aims to provide student veterans with a transparent way to identify the college or university best suited to a student veteran’s military experience.

First, select the service branch and then the drop-down menu of military occupations. Next, select the highest pay grade achieved and date the initial training was completed. When completed, select "Search." A cumulative list of potential credits per institution will populate.
