Supporting Veterans, One Credit at a Time

We know that translating military experience into college credit can be confusing. Thanks to the Veteran Reconnect Grant, Tennessee colleges and universities now use a more consistent process, called Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), to evaluate military credits. This ensures that your hard-earned experience is recognized across many institutions. The grant also provides funding to support veterans, Active Duty, and Reserve/National Guard personnel as they pursue higher education in Tennessee.

This Military College Credit tool is designed to give you a clear, transparent way to find the school that best recognizes your service and supports your educational goals.

Begin Search

First, select your service branch. Then, choose your Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) — or the closest related field — from the drop-down menu of military occupations. Next, enter your highest pay grade achieved and the date your initial training was completed. When you’re ready, click "Search." A customized list of potential credits available at participating Tennessee institutions will then appear.
